I was quite sceptical about 'crowd sourced books'. There's a reason why most of us are not writers (and its not because we dont have distribution). Getting a mass of untalented writers to collaborate and write a crowd sourced book seems like a recipe for distaster. Speaking of recipes, I do think, however, the two ideas you mention -- cookbooks and wedding books make a lot of sense. I just hope that Blurb is going in that direction. Believe me -- a real book written by my friends and I would NOT be up for a Booker Prize nomination!
