We recently soft launched (Beta) a brand new social network for folks in the entertainment industry, BOUNDLESSsocialnetwork (http://boundlesssocialnetwork.ning.com).

BOUNDLESS will be (to our knowledge) the first Social Network geared specifically towards the entertainment industry (those who work in any facet of it, and those whose goal it is to work in the industry), that is the entire entertainment industry across the board from music, film & television, theater, sports entertainment, digital media and even adult entertainment.

The goal of Boundless is to create a platform to foster knowledge, training, employment opportunities, and communication among peers in the industry.

BOUNDLESS believes that, by and through technology, the future of ENTERTAINMENT being delivered to every corner of the earth is simply BOUNDLESS. To that we plan to make full use of technology and digital media as much and as often as we can on our social network. With that being said, we are very pleased to have recently entered into an agreement to use "thebizmo" as the exclusive Digital Application (widget) for musical artists to deliver their art to their fans worldwide.

As president of Boundless, and a former independent music publisher in the late 80's & early 90's with the independent music publishing firm Dysharr Music, I can tell you that "thebizmo" is an application that in my opinion will revolutionize the music industry as we know it. Yes there are other programs and digital applications that do similar things, but none of them do ALL of what "thebizmo" does to the extent it does it. Plus, what I really, really like about "thebizmo" is the potential applications in other areas of the entertainment industry, such as film distribution.

We are looking forward to a long and mutually beneficial business relationship with the guys at "thebizmo" and we are pleased to be one of the first companies out there promoting it as the exclusive digital application for unsigned artists to promote their music!

Groove Mobile has not entered into a relationship with UGC Ltd. or Ariadne Capital and was not involved in the development of the online music store widget called ‘TheBizmo.' A press release was issued mentioning the developers’ past backgrounds with Groove Mobile but they are no longer affiliated with the company.

Hi Guys
The three founders of UGC (thebizmo) Myself, Alf G and Lars K are all former musicians.
We built the system to provide artists a super simple, turnkey e-store for their sales and marketing work. Part of the key to having this system work is that fans and other artists are meant to mutually promote and sell each others stuff.

This again means that we need the upfront permission of the content owner to do all sorts of stuff. Having said that, and in the interest of making everyone feel safe and happy, we could probably remove one or two words from the above quoted sentence. In fact I think we will do just that :)

EH - Fair enough, however, they have to have SOME rights (though not ownership) in order to be able to transmit the performance of the band in question. Perhaps we need a lawyer to take a better look ;-)

Although the terms and conditions do say:

"For clarity, you retain all of your ownership rights in your content"

they qualify this by saying:

"However, by submitting the content to bizmo, you hereby grant UGC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the content in connection with the bizmo service and UGC (and its successor's) business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the bizmo service (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels."

Depending on what use bizmo intend to make of uploaded content, that could cut across a band's "ownership rights" pretty substantially...
