If imitation is the best form of flattery, then Tariq and his team should be really proud of what they have done with Netvibes. I'm sure he will do great things again with his next project.

Shame about the situation at Netvibes. Even though the loading times were a bit slow, the site looked much cooler than the horrendous iGoogle.

Still believe there is a gap in the Start Page marketplace, for some smart players to show the real value in creating a Start Page for everyone.
Have many ideas in this Start Page arena and would love to discuss my plans with other interested parties.

Do any of the companies in this aggregation space have a revenue model apart from subsidiary funding from parents (Yahoo, Google) ?

Good luck to Tariq though, its too often the CEO who walks the plank in these situations.

If the rumors about pissed VCs are true I guess that Tariq exit will not be so smooth... say, he might be considered a "good leaver" but I very much doubt he will be able to keep all his shares into the company.
