Agree – as the bigger names go mobile, eg, Blogger, Wordpress, etc, services such as Moblog will lose their unique selling point.

Also, with many blogs offer email-to-blog functionality, so those with email capable handsets and/or are using Blackberries or Momail can easily update while on the go – without the restrictions of SMS and MMS.

Agree with Philip – the mobile phone is becoming the default device for capturing personal content (photos, videos, twitters) a platform that puts the mobile at the centre can build a strong position. Moblog already have traction from their existing user base and a load of blue-chip clients (record labels, channel 4 etc). Plus, unlike a lot of web 2.0 startups they are not massively over-capitalised.

i disagree with the first comment. i think mobile blogging is quiet likely to get a good hype. especially with integrated applications for content-pushing or a good email/sms integration.

if you count facebook as your ‘lifestyle blog’ with mobile image uploads etc then the activity of my friends that own an iphone quadrupled since the iphone-app release. that also applies for twitter-clients etc on the mobile-device.

if content creation and retrieval from the mobile device is designed well it will take off. i don’t know if a real blog (not micro-blog) will be the service that gets the most attention, but hey… in japan they write books on mobile-devices…
