Click to activate a charity on Everyclick

Everyclick, a search engine which monetises search results for charities and offers donation and campaign tools, is launching a new full-blown platform. It should prove popular. According to an NfP Synergy 2008 survey, only 41% of the UK’s charities with a turnover of less than £1m (the majority of the 200,000 total) have the facilities to collect online donations. The three year old startup was founded by CEO Polly Gowers in 2005 and donates 50% of its revenue to charity, £500,000 so far. Pretty laudible stuff. The new platform has tools for collecting online donations, supporters’ sponsorship pages and running online appeals, and Everyclick is not charging charities any retainers or fees. Since every charity is on the system all they need to to is activate their account. However, even in this do-gooder market it has competitors in the form of Easyfundraising, justgiving and bmycharity. Not your typical Web 2.0 startup, but hey, the heart’s in the right place.
