Just tried m.mippin.com on my Nokia N95. Pretty impressed so far. Like the fact that I can customise my homepage. Will play with it for a little longer. Might just be what I was looking for. Blog post coming soon.

I've kinda settled in now with NetNewsWire for my RSS needs and its doing quite well. I'd also be interested to see from any one who uses it, how it compares to the Newsgator products.

Hi Mike, we'd feel pretty confident here of a direct comparison between Mippin & Google Reader and believe that we offer an experience on mobile that's a world ahead in terms of richness & engagement.

Our user testing also consistently suggests that expectations have moved on from the 'simple RSS reader - limited feed, no picture' approach.

(As an aside - we've been optimised for iPhone since the release of the iPhone! But these developments add a layer of 'sheen' that we felt was worth talking about...) :)

Cheers,
Jon

Mippin is becoming a lot more than a mobile RSS reader - they did just launch a load of new social features. I would say its more of a mobile portal/ social search service these days.

The success of the iphone and Android services IS significant when you think that a year ago everyone was saying that the iphone meant there was no need for mobile-focused sites anymore, the mobile web was dead etc.

I am hearing from a lot of mobile web startups that 2009 has started really strongly - there's a huge amount of growth ahead in mobile internet and mippin is in a great place to take advantage of this.
