This is an interesting concept with a lot of potential as the user experience is superior to clicking on boxes answering questions to determine your preferences.

They have a travel application used on the UK hotels.com site allowing users to choose the type of destination and accommodation on their visualDNA. Like this a lot.

Sorry if I am barging in, but this needs attention:
Copy of mail to TC:

Dear Mike and the rest of the Crunch boys

A whole lot of people here in India rely on openDNS as the default ISP dns resolution is flaky...
It happens that openDNS is blocking techcrunch.com for the past half an hour or so and the
problem is not yet solved.

It is not possible to visit techcrunch.com with opera and firefox.
The message says:
Site blocked. techcrunch.com is not allowed on this network.

This site was categorized as:

Blogs, News/Media, Software/Technology

Questions? Not properly categorized?

Since I am using a BSNL WLL wireless internet home connection and not a corporate connection, I am pretty much pissed.

I don't live in china either. Switching back to BSNL dns is even worse as they are hardly usable.

However, it is possible to visit TC in Opera Mini and Opera Desktop Browser Turbo Mode as they use proxies...

I have attached screenshots illustrating the problem.

Please check with your sources and if possible send a big fuck you to openDNS for censoring my favorite harmless sites like this...

Thank you!

Robert N

PS.

THE PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVED EVEN AFTER CLEARINF CACHE, SWITCHING OFF USB MODEM AND GETTING NEW DYNAMIC IP ALSO DIDN'T SOLVE IT...

I'LL POST THIS IN TC AS COMMENT TOO...

Very happy to see this. There is a lot of merit to what they do (based on specific types of marketing research). I wish them the very best, and will continue to work on a similar concept that promises more detailed and accurate clustering of consumers (patent pending).
