And if that can&#039;t sustain a local team to milk a clearly very spend happy advertising community, then someone&#039;s financial controls have gone doolally.</description>

		<description>Regardless of it being MySpace it is still sad to see all these people loose their jobs. 

My guess is that these parties are, like you said, a way to generate traffic to the site. I doubt if it results in more users since their userbase is probably saturated. It&#039;d call it a shot at creating brand loyalty.</description>
