Oh come on man..most of us are already DROWNING in information. What makes you think I want more, especially in “real time”? I’d much rather read a well written NYT article on yesterday’s Wimbledon game than a sloppily written 140 character tweet about who won.

There is so much press on real-time anything these days!

It’s getting a bit overdone. I am concerned that this might just end up being a big hyped up phenomena like Technorati was.

I don’t think relying on real-time alone is enough. You need to leverage it inside an application that is already successful. For example, re-ranking and personalizing authoritative news for users with this data like http://tweetnews.me does should be done with other types of data as well (especially social networks).

I am not quite sure this realtime data aggregation space is quite as “open” as it once was, however it is an equally notable investment on the part of Dawn Capital, whose last few investments happened back in 2008, according to information on their “current investments page” ( http://tr.im/qrBd) they are currently investing in two technology companies, one health, and one financial. I wonder which will end up providing the greatest returns for Dawn Capital? I expect Cognitive has a good chance!
