I think this is a great step towards more awareness of current energy consumption, even if it is handing more data over to the ‘hive mind’. Would be fantastic to see location aware energy consumption stats so that people can be more conscious of average energy usage within there area, although I feel that just exporting how much energy used might render this data useless unless linked with household data such as how many people are in one household.
