Apprupt uses funding round to push UK sales

Apprupt, the first affiliate network for mobile applications, is taking a baby step towards internationalisation today with the appointment of Jon Mundy a former sales strategy manager at BSkyB. He’ll develop the business in the UK out of their new London office. It’s a natural move as the UK has possibly the hottest mobile market in Europe.

Mundy will be pushing out the apprupt publisher network. He has worked across the online sector for the last ten years and also worked at Aura Sports, which was bought by BSkyB in 2006.

Apprupt closed a large financing round with Deutsche Telekom’s T-Venture arm, KfW and its existing investor Neuhaus Partners recently but terms were undisclosed.

Apprupt’s performance analytics shop focuses on iPhone apps but the Android store is to come. The platform track click-thrus and conversion rates for online and mobile links to iPhone apps, with the idea that developers can then find where there best traffic comes from and target resources accordingly.
