Former Spotify SVP Paul Brown lands COO gig at research software startup Mendeley

Earlier this week, we reported that Paul Brown, formerly Spotify‘s SVP of strategic partnerships and managing director of its UK office before that, had recently quit the digital music streaming startup and landed a gig at another startup.

We knew it was a company outside the music space, but not which one. Now we do: Brown has been hired as chief operating officer at research collaboration software company Mendeley (our coverage).

Brown will join the Mendeley team as from September 6, where he will help scale the firm’s London-based operations and drive international strategic partnership development.

“Mendeley is building a vital product that has a significant impact on the lives of researchers, academics, and students – revolutionizing how they collaborate and discover academic content online,” said Brown.
