Istanbul, here I come (get your discount codes for the Webrazzi Summit here)

Two months ago, I wrote this:

“If there’s one thing I keep hearing over and over when it comes to the European startup scene, it’s that investors who are not seriously looking at the Turkish market may be missing out on some of the continent’s biggest digital companies in the next 10 years.

My plan is to go to Turkey some day and investigate this burgeoning startup ecosystem up close, and I hope that trip will take me to some of its marvelous cities and beautiful beaches.”

I didn’t want it to be an empty promise, so I’m heading down there in a couple of weeks to attend Turkey’s most influential Internet conference, the Webrazzi Summit, which will be held on October 19 in the beautiful city of Istanbul. Looking forward to it tremendously.

On the speaker list, you’ll find people like well-known entrepreneur and investor Yossi Vardi, Christian Hernandez Gallardo (Head Of International Business Development, Facebook), Claire Diaz Ortiz (who leads social innovation at Twitter), Mike Read (SVP and MD Europe at comScore), Mattias Ljungman (a partner at Atomico Ventures), Reshma Sohoni (Seedcamp) and Anton Popov (Head of Sales & Marketing at Yandex), among many others.

I’m hoping to meet a lot of Turkish entrepreneurs and startups at the event. If you haven’t registered yet, you can fix that by getting your tickets for the conference here.

Don’t tell anyone I told you, but you can get a 20 percent discount on the ticket price if you enter the code ‘techcrunch’ when you register.
